The Alabama Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation strives to create
awareness and educate the public about the Department’s initiatives, service population, and mental health
subject matters through press releases and other public information outlets. Below you will find timely

Speaker's Bureau:
The Office of Public Information maintains the department's
Speaker's Bureau. Volunteer professionals and advocates are eager to visit your club, organization, school, church group,
etc., to speak about a full range of topics related to mental health, mental retardation or substance abuse issues. For more
information or to arrange a speaker, contact the Office of Public Information at 334-242-3417.
Ideally, it is best to contact us at least two weeks before
your engagement so that we can best meet your needs.
